For the 3rd workshop of the 2020 Etsy U series, NY Handmade Collective Team President Melissa Kelly will share the latest on what's trending and popular on Etsy with shoppers, and you will leave the workshop with new information on what items to create or advertise based on the most popular themes and items currently on Etsy.

Each of these brainstorm sessions are informal ways to share ideas while getting to know other team members. Team members will be invited to answer questions like: 

• How do you approach social media: Do you plan it out or post as you feel like it?

• Do you focus on a particular platform? Which one and why?

• What are the best resources you’ve found for social media (both informational like blogs/podcasts or applications to get it done)?

• What is a post that you have done that surprised you with the engagement it received?

This workshop will cover the best practices for you to learn in order to reach the customers looking for your products. We will go over SEO, or search engine optimization, for both Etsy search and Google. Find out how to retool your listings and end up in top of the search results.

Learn tips on how to utilize your social media accounts to promote your Etsy shop.

Many of us have business social media accounts in the hopes that we will engage with new followers and gain customers for our Etsy shops, as well as keep our current audience interested. But how do we best use social media to get buyers' attention? 

This workshop will go over some basics of how to best use your Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Pinterest to engage with and appeal to your customers. We'll discuss which types of photos to use, what size they size to make them for each platform, and how to use videos to their best advantage. We will talk about how to use Facebook and Instagram stories. We'll also cover engagement on social media and how often to post.
