Pumpkin Spice and everything nice....

It's that time of year again! For me, October signals the start of all things pumpkin. The fall season has officially started, the leaves are starting to turn, and once again, pumpkin will become the rock star of Autumn!

You can probably find many pumpkin-themed items all year round. Pumpkin candles, pumpkin soap, you name it. But things get kicked into high gear once October rolls around.

And of course there is pumpkin beer. Right here in New York, Brooklyn Brewery makes their own special pumpkin ale. Starbucks offers their seasonal coffee, Pumpkin spice....the lines may be long, but people need their caffeine fix (touched by spice!) Dunkin' Donuts also has their own homage to the pumpkin....two different coffee blends: pumpkin mocha and pumpkin white chocolate. They have pumpkin donuts too!

And of course Halloween is right around the corner! I love to walk by homes with carved jack 'o lanterns in the window. My carving skills are not the best, but I will be picking out my pumpkin on Saturday and giving it my best shot!

The Great Jack 'O Lantern Blaze

The Great Jack 'O Lantern Blaze looks like a great event. A co-worker told me about it as I was writing this. It is a show in upper Westchester that features more than 5,000 individually hand-carved, illuminated jack o’ lanterns. All set on a historic, 18th-century riverside landscape with a spooky soundtrack and synchronized light show.

Let's not forget the star dessert at the thanksgiving table. There is probably stiff competition between pumpkin pie and apple pie, but I grew up eating more pumpkin pie than apple. Personally, i would love to have one more bite of the yummy pumpkin pie cheesecake that an old co-worker brought in many years ago.

So, I hope you all enjoy this lovely Fall season, full of pumpkin pleasures!
