Fall Home Decorating Ideas
As fall season begins, it is always nice take time to refresh your home space and infuse it with new colors and style.
Here are 5 ideas to spruce up your home this fall:
1. Find vintage treasures
One-of-a-kind vintage finds can add character to any room in a home. In my own home, my favorite vintage piece is this trunk that was found by my friend near a dumpster. He then took the time to refurbish it into this antique looking chest. I’ve had this piece for over 10 years and will take it with me wherever I move to next!
So next time you are at the flea market, take a look around and see what catches your eye. Other places to find great vintage finds: antique shops, Craig’s List, eBay and ETSY.
2. Add a chandelier
I love chandeliers! Chandelier lighting adds a distinct and striking visual element to any room. Chandeliers come in many different shapes, sizes and price points.
3. Contrast textures and prints
Who says everything has to be matchy-matchy? Be fearless and follow your instincts to mix different patterns, off-beat colors, metals and fabrics. It’s ok to experiment and see what resonates best with your sense of style.
4. Incorporate cubbies to help stay organized
Cubicles or accent pieces that serve as décor and storage are best, especially for small space living. Neatly arranging stacks of books, papers, boxes or anything according to size and/or color makes a nice visual statement and helps you stay organized.
5. Color made easy
When you stick to a neutral warm color palette as a backdrop for walls or large furnishings, then this allows you to accessorize with vibrantly colorful pillows, glamorous accent pieces and bold wall art.
