Crafts in Chelsea returns just in time for Mother's Day to 21st Street between 8-9 Avenues in Manhattan. To spread the news of this event across the tri-state area, The {NewNew}and the artisans of Crafts in Chelsea have joined forces to offer this amazing giveaway. Every day this week, we will offer a giveaway package containing an assortment of carefully crafted items created by artists you can meet at Crafts in Chelsea.

To kick off the week you can enter to win all of the following:
One Spinner created by designer Romi Hefetz of Romi Ceramics. This is one of Romi's signature pieces.
A Demi Semi ring by McFlashpants. Made out of a vintage silver plated dinner fork split down the middle and bent into a ring. Very rock and roll. It looks like you're wearing two floating rings. And finally,

PS 11 is partnering with The {NewNew} - a local NY Metro group of Etsy Sellers - to close 21st Street between 8th and 9th Avenues, to host Crafts in Chelsea. A fall handmade delight of the finest handmade arts and crafts the New York Metro are has to offer. From elegant jewelry to unique upcycled handbags, to cutting edge fashions, artwork, and more! All handmade within the New York Tri-state region. Check out sellers and more information on this post.
Location: West 21st Street between 8th and 9th Avenues, Manhattan. Saturday, 10am - 5pm.

NYCraft [a group of {NewNew}ers] continues at beautiful Madison Square Park until November 1st. Enjoy the autumn season by strolling through this outdoor market, and get some shopping in between Columbus Day Weekend through Halloween. {NewNew} artisans AlexandraFerguson, KimmChi, Meegün, Metalicious, LennyMud, Fubabee, and Wabisabi Brooklyn will have their products available at this great market.

Witness a Marriage of Fine Art and Tangible Goods

An explosion of handmade crafts is about to happen in a place one can only describe as a Mecca for fine design. That’s right, on October 17th, 2009 from 10am to 5pm, the Chelsea area of Manhattan will host the first ever “Crafts in Chelsea” festival where you can chat with local artists to learn the stories behind those one-of-a-kind gifts.

PS 11 and The {New New}, a NY Metro group of online Etsy Sellers, will take over 21st Street between 8th and 9th Avenues and invite you to bask in a smorgasbord of the best handmade crafts. From jewelry to handbags and more this festival will have the latest and greatest from the most talented artists in the New York area. 


That’s not all. When the kids tire of watching you drool over the eye-catching new fashions and “have to have” artwork, let them spend some time hanging with the animals. With a petting zoo, free food, games, an awesome bouncy castle and lots of other munchkins to play with parents can feel free to let the kids play while they shop for the finest handmade goods Chelsea has to offer.Check out this list of Etsy shops participating:
