Hot weather has finally arrived! What better way to celebrate the dog days of summer than to head outside with the rest of NYC to enjoy cool drinks, refreshing food and desserts, and great handmade shopping. The {NewNew} is back in our old haunts in Brooklyn this week, so swing by and say hello to your favorite artists!
The {NewNew} will be at the Flea in Fort Greene on Saturday and DUMBO on Sunday, so swing by these rockin' markets and check out Adornments NYC, vyphuisdesigns, and PandaWithCookie in Fort Greene and StudioPetite, YaniaCreations, and AnneArden in DUMBO.

Where to Find the {NewNew} August 1 + 2

The first days of August... where did the summer go? Whether it's last minute summer finds or a start on autumn shopping, the {NewNew} will be sure to have something you need. Check them out at the following markets:

The East End GreenFest will feature live bands and performers on a solar powered stage, wineries, healthy and local foods, vendors with natural and sustainable products, renewable energy workshops, and other fun earth-friendly events. Help celebrate the latest green solutions and products, and while you're there check out {NewNew} vendors Lu Crafts with her scented soy candles poured into vintage tea cups and upcycled magnets as well as Journalistic Tendencies with her handbound journals made with 100% recycled paper.
Location: Strawberry Fields Fairgrounds, Mattituck, Long Island. Saturday and Sunday, 10am - 6pm.

The {NewNew} will be at the Flea in DUMBO this Sunday, so swing by this beautiful waterfront location and check out RedBridge Studio, Luis Fernando, and Adornments NYC.

The Brooklyn Indie Market always has a laid back, friendly vibe that makes shopping a pleasure. Stop by tomorrow and see {NewNew} artists WabisabiBrooklyn, Fofolle, pCharming, prismPOP, and WindowsOfAgate.

Leonia Summer Craft Fair
This large fair benefits the American Legion and will feature handmade crafts from nearly 50 local artists, classic cars, a moon bounce for the kids, henna tattoos, and great summer food. {NewNew} member LuCrafts will be selling at this fun summer event.
Location: 399 Broad Avenue, Leonia, NJ. Sunday, 10am - 4pm.

EcoArt Community Festival
This eco-friendly festival, sponsored by NYS Senator Eric Adams and Comptroller William C. Thompson, boasts great handmade vendors, workshops, and activities for kids. CollectiveElements and BetterThanJam of the {NewNew} will be selling their great handmade items alongside other green vendors.
Location: Prospect Park Carousel Entrance, near Flatbush and Ocean Avenues. Sunday, 11am - 4pm.

Where to Find the {NewNew} July 11 + 12

Step into the relaxed beat of summertime by enjoying some fun markets this weekend. The {NewNew} will be in Brooklyn and New Jersey, so be sure to stop by and buy some great handmade goodies.

Maplewoodstock
This two-day art and music festival in Maplewood, NJ has a “green theme” for all of our vendors this year to support and encourage the global effort help raise awareness of environmental issues. There will be an estimated 3,000 attendees. One of the few family music and art fairs in the area, Maplewoodstock will be sure to delight families with children with art projects, games, live music, and food. {NewNew} members include CollectiveElements, YaniaCreations, Jantar, PandaWithCookie, EnchantraGirl, and NordeaSoaperie.

The Can Factory Market at the Old American Can Factory
The Can Factory Market at the Old American Can Factory is a new place to find wares designed, crafted, grown or published from a broad community of creative makers. Located in the restored 5000 square foot garage of The Old American Can Factory, a historic industrial complex that is a curated haven to more than 200 artisans, artists, designers, publishers and non-profit organizations. Go check out {NewNew} members May Luk with her gorgeous ceramics and Wabisabi Brooklyn with her beautiful decoupage jewelry.

Where to Find the {NewNew} July 4 + 5

It's supposed to be a lovely Fourth of July weekend, with clear sunny skies and wafts of grilled veggies and meats floating through the air. The {NewNew} is sure to make your time outside worthwhile, appearing at a couple of outdoor markets on Sunday with great summer items handmade by the finest artists in the city!

It's the last Saturday for Persuede jewelry at the Ft. Greene Artisan Market until September, so swing by to enjoy this exclusively handmade market, next to the Greenmarket, on Dekalb Avenue and Cumberland Street in Brooklyn.

Cold Spring River Fest
Cold Spring is a lovely Victorian village dating back to the 19th century in the Hudson River Valley. This year they are celebrating their first annual Cold Spring River Fest, an event with 75 exhibitors selling antiques, pottery, crafts, and art. {NewNew} members PulpSushi and NordeaSoaperie will be a part of the festivities.

If you're like me, you're a bit weary of the rainy weather we've been getting. Thankfully, it looks like sunny weather will be heading our way this weekend, so go out, enjoy some sunshine, and check out the {NewNew} at your favorite markets while you're at it!

BAMRA Bleecker Street Festival
Bleecker Street is always a fun street to get lost on, and this Saturday it will be even more interesting with the BAMRA Bleecker Street Festival going on. More than 150 vendors are participating in this one-day event, including {NewNew} members LuCrafts, aStudioByTheSea, and JDavisStudio.
Location: Bleecker Street between Broadway and 6th Avenue, Manhattan. Saturday, 11am - 6pm.

Curves in the City
Full Figure Fashion Week in New York is sponsoring a discount retail shopping event for plus sizes only. Regular admission to the event is $15; VIP admission is $25 and gets you a goodie bag. While you're there, be sure to check out {NewNew} vendor CollectiveElements.
Location: Ripley Grier Studios, 520 8th Avenue (bet. 36th and 37th Streets), 16th Floor, Room 17D, New York, NY (must have I.D. to enter building). Saturday, 11am-3pm.
